TeamLabs, in collaboration with Malaga City Council and Promálaga, is launching “Acelera”, the first pre-university accelerator in Malaga. The aim is to boost and scale up the projects of high school and vocational training students, so that they can make their entrepreneurial ideas a reality.
In this first edition, 7 schools in the city are participating: Colegio Sierra Blanca, MIT School, IES Playamar, Novaschool, Sallliver, Maristas and Torrequebrada.
“Acelera”, which starts on the 14th of November and ends on the 26th of January, aims to offer a practical entrepreneurial alternative to students in years 11 and sixth form (4th ESO, 1st and 2nd Baccalaureate) and Vocational Training following our methodology of “learning by doing”. During this period, different workshops, mentoring sessions and training sessions will be held with the 7 schools in classrooms and via an online format and, at the same time, they will visit TeamLabs headquarters in Calle Beatas, 34 in Malaga.
The arrival of Mondragon Unibertsitatea and TeamLabs in Malaga is part of the collaboration protocol signed with Malaga City Council, through Promálaga, to promote the city as an urban environment brewing with innovation and entrepreneurship, which is an international benchmark, as well as to help the generation of employment through the creation of new innovative business initiatives.
In addition to the start of the first course of the LEINN Degree (Entrepreneurship Leadership and Innovation) in Malaga this September, throughout this year and thanks to this agreement, different activities have been launched whereby TeamLabs and Mondragon Unibertsitatea have managed to impact over 3,100 young people from Malaga.
Specifically, these activities have been “Awaken”, workshops to awaken the entrepreneurial vocation of high school students; “Dare”, hackathons where they work on innovative ideas based on challenges shared by real companies; “Hack”, where young people have lived an intensive and immersive digital experience in which they incorporated accessible technology to improve the value proposition of their projects; and finally, “Accelerate”, which starts now.
To carry out the programme, the participants will have the support of young entrepreneurs who are in their second and third year of the LEINN Degree (Official Degree in Entrepreneurship Leadership and Innovation) in Madrid and those who have been doing so in Malaga since September.
