Twenty-five professionals of Barcelona joined this year Teamlabs All Star, our international talent network of 60 cutting-edge professionals who share our philosophy and values.
It is an honor for us to welcome those new All Stars as professionals who are working on educational and corporate innovation, entrepreneurship, talent management or social transformation to join our community. In order to thank all of them and have a great welcoming, we celebrated on 22nd of February, a very special event in our urban campus in Barcelona where, why not say it, we could feel their eager to share their talents, experiences and start doing things all together. We could appreciate the magic within things around us!
With the room full of people and balloons, we started introducing Teamlabs All Star 2017 members. The first one, Xavier Aragay, expert on educational innovation and co-founder of the UOC, reminded us the power that education has to transform society. Then, Sandra Ruiz, emigrant in many ways (beyond geographically) and talent management leader emphasized its continuous state of learner, and in need of reinvention that many people we do have. Daniel Hires, citizen of the world, immersed in green entrepreneurship projects in Mediterranean countries, shared with us his passion for helping people to be able to generate changes in their environment.
Both Silvia Vilchez, passionate about social impact and corporate social responsibility initiatives, and Jose María Orduño who has been only “40 years” doing the same thing: managing human resources in 10 large corporations as Nutrexpa; named themselves as ‘fans’ of Teamlabs and reminded us the need of a paradigm shift in the world of human resources management, being his humility and passion for helping others why we fell in love with them.
Katrina Logie, another international All Star: borned in London and Barcelona citizen nowadays. She introduced us her project The Grid, through which she is disseminating innovative projects and connecting people who are generating social transformation in the city of Barcelona. On the other hand, Jean Claude Rodríguez, Ashoka Fellow Entrepreneur, shared with us his latest project, Jobui, which connects youth and mentors to thus create new models of mutual learning. No doubt we are rowing the same direction!
We also had the opportunity to know some of the team companies and community projects of Teamlabs Barcelona: Isaac Viu was the first to arise as a member of the sixth generation of Masteryourself, called Pole-Pole: all of them passionate about social impact projects. Fernando Lecuona, Paula Meier and Javier Sainz, INITI members, team company of 2nd year of our bachelors degree LEINN (leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation), presented its two main projects: Innovate or Die and Food 360º.
Positive energy and desire to travel to Shanghai brought us another of our All Star 2017 Mercé Carreras, Professor of the University of Barcelona, who has established in Teamlabs Barcelona the base of operations of her working group on economics for the Common Good. She made special emphasis, as well as Sandra or Silvia, on the need to incorporate gender perspective into the entrepreneurship world. No doubt about it: #FemalePower is another of our claims for this 2017! On the other hand, Xavier Dumont Teamlabs friend since the very beginning of TL/ at Barcelona, more than 3 years ago, shared with us his travel in the scope of the support to entrepreneurs, and the need of existence of innovation & entrepreneurship spaces such as Teamlabs, or Barcelona Activa, his current organization.
Polly Nethersole talked us about some social and political global issues, focusing on the need of how youngsters should empower themselves in order to be active citizens. Mohamed El Amrani is a good example of it, our youngest All Star member. He became social entrepreneur at the age of 14, thus becoming to our community a reference when implementing social initiatives both in Catalonia and in his homeland, Morocco.
Precisely speaking of youth and the need of their empowerment, Melanie Huser, Member of the 6th generation of Masteryourself, presented us one of their projects in which are working: Impact Link, whose challenge is how to motivate Millennials to generate positive impact in the society.
From the school and as a teacher, Pilar Mateu explained us how during years, she has been detecting real training needs, and designed specific plans to do so, since the area of healthcare to the corporate one.Marc Collado, who is leading Iron Hack in Barcelona, put technological touch to the evening sharing with us how his life path changed completely in deciding to undertake.
Finally,Pere Rosales, leader in the field of combining innovation and change in different organizations, specified already that we should not talk about human resources in companies, but think in terms of “human with resources” and how this will generate talents in enterprises.
After all these presentations, applause, laughter and almost any tear of emotion, conclude the day with a great family photo. As we said in the event: we provide the framework and our community of All Stars and equipment set up and draw the canvas. That is Teamlabs.
We take from here to thank them also, and present to the Teamlabs All Star 2017 of Barcelona, who could not join us in person this day, and which are incorporated into our community. Cecilia Tham, enterprising series and co-founder of the MOB, which was our first home in Barcelona; María Vallés, current Director of the Foundation of FC.
