The radical learning laboratory known as TeamLabs has decided to move its headquarters. Specifically, it will be established in the Casa de las Alhajas in Madrid, an emblematic building owned by the MonteMadrid Foundation. Through a rental agreement, TeamLabs will be able to use this place for the next 20 years.
It is in this innovative space where the university degree known as LEINN is taught. With this change of location, TeamLabs seeks to continue its work to transform education and promote a radically different approach to university education.
This is the latest major expansion of space by the education and training sector in the capital. The new location, close to Plaza de las Descalzas, gives TeamLabs the opportunity to triple the size of its former headquarters in Madrid. This will allow it to accommodate more than 1,000 people who are part of its collective creation community.
In addition, this strategic location will facilitate the continued development of the social impact that has attracted the attention of public administrations, educational institutions and companies. TeamLabs collaborates with them in processes of transformation, innovation and change, and this new space will be key to boosting these collaborations.
Transformation of the historic 6,000 sqm Madrid building
From the start of the 2023-2024 academic year, the historic 6,000 square metre, 300 year old building will be transformed into a new socio-cultural space. This place will be open to events, people, companies and organisations interested in fostering disruptive and transversal creation in the artistic, cultural, scientific, technological, social and environmental fields.
All of this will be aligned with TeamLabs’ learning philosophy, specifically in its degree in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation (LEINN), an official degree awarded by the University of Mondragon. It should be noted that this programme has been running for more than 12 years in Spain and has a 97% job placement rate. This new space will provide an environment conducive to fostering creativity and transformative impact in various fields.
