We are so glad to keep learning with Tiimiakatemia Global every year.
In the past few years, we hosted and created learning experiences with Heikki Toivanen (Tiimiakatemia Global CEO), teamprenaurs from Switzerland and Bristol and team coaches all over the World during the Team Mastery.
This strong relationship represents an important node in our global ecosystem and for this reason we had the honor to share our ideas about learning labs and ecosystems during a session of the Teamcoachig Boost: a continuous development programme for all team coaches who use Tiimiakatemia -influenced approach in their work.
What we talked about? Here are some insights from our dialogue with Tiimiakatemia.
A radical learning lab: another team coach
Facilities are learning facilitators as a team coach: space design influences learning and emotions.
In LEINN, the team coaches facilitate learning processes, they bet on “learning by doing” We learn through actions, dialogue and team: sharing our project in our team brings us in producing new knowledge.
Indeed, all the activities in LEINN have the purpose to create a collective intelligence that helps us to create a culture.
Our culture is based on simple practices sustained in the time such as training session, dialogue, post motorola, feedback.
The laboratory represents a culture of experimentation and all the people (team coaches, community builders, incubation managers, experts) are involved in this process of generating culture to bring LEINNers (our team entrepreneurs) to reality, learning by experience and not in the traditional academic way.
This is the path that makes us able to activate new members in our entrepreneurial ecosystem and generate a huge positive impact.
Our culture is the consequence of collective intelligence and indeed our culture represents our community and our values, that we call leading thoughts.
We work on our principles together with our worldwide community MTA – Mondragón Team Academy.
MTA community: we are unified but not uniform
We have different laboratories all around the World. As we said in TeamLabs/ and in Mondragón Team Academy: the World is our game board and we have different stages where we can connect with other teams and organize the next challenges.
And then, play, learn and do it as a team.
We said that we are unified but not uniform. Indeed, we are part of the same academic frame in Mondragón University that represents our education methodology: so we are unified but we are not uniform because we believe that the difference between us could improve our projects and our learning processes. Different teams but also different laboratories, countries, cities and towns.
It is very important to share that every lab has a specific identity and it is very connected to the city and the neighborhood where it is located.
For example, the Barcelona LAB is very connected with startup ecosystems (22@, Tech Barcelona, Barcelona Activa) and the furniture (not just in the activities with our partners) is the reflection of an industrial place. We don’t use desks, we have scaffolds: everything is under construction, as is entrepreneurship.
We are going to change our laboratories in Málaga and Barcelona and we are focusing on two strategic paths: technology and the circular economy.
The laboratory in Madrid represents the new economies and that is why we are working to create our Venture, to grow more and give opportunities to the entrepreneurial projects of our community.
Our (new) leading thoughts
Last year Mondragón Team Academy turned 15 years old and we use this anniversary to celebrate our community and empower ourselves.
We celebrated on 3 different dates, traveling to 3 different labs: so, this is something that helps us to understand how important it is for us to keep the relation with our working places.
During the anniversary, we work on our leading thoughts as a community Worldwide.
Through the dialogue and working as a team we developed “new” leading thoughts.
As we develop projects with an entrepreneurship mindset, we put a deadline in our leading thoughts: in 2030 we will check what we have learned and what we have developed. This deadline is important because it is part of the name of the United Nation Agenda to develop 17 SDGs (sustainable development goals).
Our purpose is: we will be more radical, more diverse, more accessible and more transformative teams responding to the upcoming challenges.
HOW? Taking care of one each other, as a community does and making our ecosystem better than we have founded. So, these huge challenges have 2 mandatory tasks: learn and generate positive impact.
LEINN is social transformation, indeed we can define that our educational model is based on social entrepreneurship.
LEINN and our ecosystem are an effective and influential context for generating – and not just learning – new businesses that will make social and economic contributions.
To sum up: our purpose is to make the World a Radical Learning Lab to tackle the big fucking problems of the unknown society.
It is very important for us to share our results and create positive competition and for this reason we have screens that show all LEINN KPIs: this is an important feature in our lab.
We learn by doing with all the opportunities that come from experimental practices. Living and working in a specific space make a difference and give us a future-proof super power: a learning mindset.
A lot of times we hosted teams from different enterprises that ask us to facilitate innovation sessions or they come simply to visit us: they are impressed by the space and tell us that it is a very innovative place where it is easier than the traditional offices to brainstorm and generate new ideas.
We also have digital tools to communicate with our TL and MTA communities: we have a messaging platform and an intranet.
We have interesting data about the conversations we produce online. In the last 5 months we have generated almost 100 000 messages. The first thesis of the Cluetrain Marketing Manifesto says: Markets are conversations. So, we think we do well: a lot of conversations, a lot of opportunities in our networks.
Moreover, we have a lot of conversations with professionals of our ecosystem: every week professionals from our ecosystem offer mentorships to our LEINNers and guide them in developing and accelerating processes: it is an important moment in learning not just for the process but also for the creation of the connections between university and companies.
We also create events, moments of sharing with our Alumni community and we share opportunities with our partners: these actions make our value proposition stronger.
No ecosystem, no LEINN
These are the actors in the ecosystem and in Teamlabs/ we have a community builder team that has the goal to create connections between these parts.
Startups’ needs are finding new customers, mentors, creating new business models, finding teammates and collaborators that will provide the information needed to launch and pivot businesses.
As ecosystem connectors, we must facilitate the creation of a heterogeneous community of entrepreneurs that speak the languages of different disciplines and be able to launch innovative businesses. We must include designers, artists, technologists, scientists, and entrepreneurs. Understand the specific skills and mentalities of each community to be able to approach creations collectively.
In the case of an academic environment that has mutated into an environment of experimentation, the methodologies and working tools of the community help to shape this recognizable community of people who are able to face the current uncertainty to propose creative solutions.
We represent a culture of innovation with an open, collaborative, facilitating and optimistic mindset.
EverLEINNer: a new professional in our ecosystem
The person who is trained in a lab with TL/, MTA and in the ecosystem is a person with a global vision capable of taking advantage of entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystems in order to face the collaborative solution of global problems.
We call this kind of person everLEINNer (LEINN graduate) because the superpower that you learn in LEINN is forever: the entrepreneur attitude.
It is a signature inside the companies where they work.
A lot of them work in innovation consultancy agencies and take responsibility very soon because the company recognizes their value. The startups have a huge impact in the ecosystem and society. From TL/ was born 60 startups and 20% solved environmental and social issues.
And you? Which tools and inspirational practices are explicit of your organizational culture?
